The primary stakeholders to consider include hospital staff who have direct patient interaction. How Stakeholders are Used for Successful Implementation Formal educational training can be utilized to ensure EHRs are implemented appropriately and to their fullest potential. This education can be provided during the training portion of the onboarding process for new hires. Clinical specialist stakeholders are encouraged to provide continuous educational discussions regarding the impact and importance of EHRs for patient care. Requiring all the stakeholders to utilize EHRs and the hospital’s requirement to initiate this utilization are the only ways to promote full implementation. Why Stakeholders are Important For EHRs to operate successfully, the stakeholders must be knowledgeable about the benefits and outcomes. EHRs are used “as a real-time method of informing the health care team about the patient status” and contain “pertinent information that helps the health care team make informed decisions and ensure high-quality care in the continuity of patient care” (Folio3 Digital Health, n.d.). If every healthcare professional operating under direct-patient care utilizes EHRs in real-time, the patient’s medical chart will be up-to-date and care discrepancies can be avoided.

Leadership factors for a successful EHR implementation                   Leadership is one of important factors for a successful Electronic Health Record implementation. The leadership team plays an important role in the success of Electronic Health Record implementation because without strong leadership and coordination, the implementation will have a higher risk of failure. The leadership team comprises members from a cross-section of backgrounds and departments. Their roles are supporter, change manager, advocate, project manager, and champion (Laukka et al, 2020). Each member will provide valuable and thoughtful insight. For instance, a physician champion will coordinate with other physicians who have clinical perspectives, and the EHR team to achieve a common goal.                     Leaders need to evaluate several quality metrics such as timely access and patient information documentation, EBP alerts, length of stay effect, follow-up discharge with patients, and documentation accuracy for reimbursement and regulatory agencies when implementing an EHR (Herzing University, 2023). The leadership considers stakeholders and other consumers’ perspective to implement an EHR that will increase productivity, improve performance, enhance effectiveness, be easy to use, and support clinical care. Leadership team is key for a successful EHR implementation.
