Hook: Bill Gates who is an American business magnate and principal founder of Microsoft Corporation states that “The U.S. immigration laws are bad – really, really bad. I’d say treatment of immigrants is one of the greatest injustices done in our government’s name” (Bill Gates). However, Donald Trump states that “Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength” (Donald Trump).

Thesis: Nowadays, many immigrants leave their own hometown and come to the United States to start a new life without any permission or papers. It is because their homeland is in danger, poverty, or disease; hence, they come to a new foreign country to protect themselves. Actually, these serious huge problems become one of the most controversial topics in the United States, and there are two sides to this argument, for and against.

Paragraph 1: The liberal think that immigration would have a great impact on American society.

According to the Washington Times states that “ we need greater investment and growth with more jobs and opportunity for as many Americans as possible” (John Engle). Nowadays, immigrants create business more than native America does.

-“Lee had worked…”(34).

Evidence: According to the Washington Tines, “immigration made United States strong, powerful, and economically dynamic growing” (Grover).

Paragraph 2: There is a benefit to accepting the immigrants.

The Washington Times mentioned that “passing immigration reform would provide the opportunity for Washington to show Americans that policymakers can work together to solve big problems and boost the economy at the same time” (John Engler). The liberal think that if immigrants come to the United States, the economy will boost and great impact on America society.

“The bipartisan policy center estimates that reform would boost gross domestic product by 4.8 percent and productivity by 10 percent over 20 years” (Engler).

Transition paragraph: While the liberal think that America should keep accepting the immigrants because it have a great impact on America society, the conservative think that immigrants have a negative impact on America society.

Paragraph 3: The conservative think that immigration has a negative impact on America society.

-Trump think immigrant cause negative impact on America society, and conservatives think that American always first not immigrants; therefore, he tries to not accept the immigrants.

-However the conservative think that “many immigrants are lacking in education, the primary predictor of success in the United States, their financial status lags behind that of the nativeborn population and exerts a drag on the government”(Lane, Mark.).

“According to Camarota, analysts once believed immigrants spent 12 to 14 years working before they closed the economic gap with U.S. natives, but current research indicates that even after 20 years in the United States many immigrants still lag behind native-born Americans in important economic indicators”(Lane, Mark).

-“President Trump’s vows to protect American jobs and improve national security by tightening U.S. borders are intensifying the debate over immigration’s impact on the economy” (Maynard).

-Immigrant burden…

Paragraph 4: There is a risk if America keeps accepting the immigrant.

Evidence

-The native American people are getting lose their jobs (Hochschild).

-More crimes or terrorism happen.

-“Using children to manipulate America’s immigration system and make it easier for adults to enter the U.S. without papers and remain there” (Mail online).
