It is important to remain current with diversity issues that impact the workplace. Individually, select one area (Sexual orientation, Race, Ethnicity, Disability etc.), and then conduct a search of current events related to any of the issues covered during this semester or areas not covered but is relevant and should be highlighted. It can include any industry (health care, education, sports, government) that is impacted by the specific topic you have selected. This can also include issues you had to deal with professionally. If you choose a topic that hasn’t been covered in the course, make sure to e-mail your instructor for approval. Your instructor may assign other topics as appropriate.

• Select five news/journals/study/survey/Videos/Podcasts on the one topic you have chosen and summarize your findings, along with citation and references, and post to this discussion.
  • What is going on currently with this issue? Does it provide example of best practices? Example of bad practice? Does it discuss challenges and barriers? Is there a new law, or federal policy, guideline? Has a court issued an opinion on your chosen topic (make sure you include the state where the court decision was held) that alters what we have learned this semester. What is it alerting us to? What would you want the class to be aware on that very topic or its impact on a particular industry?
• The intent of this assignment it to compile current diversity-related materials to share with the entire class that could be used as a reference in their practice. Your summary should be user friendly, with appropriate links and annotation, including a summary of each of the materials being referenced.
