Reflection on Group Project Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Professor Course Name and Number Date Reflection on Group Project Our group has experienced several types of conflicts. For instance, the group has experienced task-based conflicts because of the disagreements and friction at work that we experienced while coordinating the tasks for the project. Our group experienced this type of conflict because we did not have the skills to successfully delegate tasks and communicate well. Most members of the group also were not responsible and accountable which promoted task-based conflicts. We also experienced leadership conflicts (Benoliel, 2017). This is because our group had diverse people where some had bold and charismatic leadership skills while others preferred a more laid-back and inviting approach to leading others. The other conflict type we experienced was the work-style conflicts. This type of conflict occurred because some of the members preferred working in groups while others prefer working alone. The ability to manage pressure from the groups played a key role in influencing the way some of the team members worked either as a group or individually. The conflicts experienced by the members of the group compared to a larger extent with the types of conflict noted in the text. The conflicts in the text were the same types of conflicts that we experienced in the group during the project. The members of the group used different conflict management styles. My personal conflict management style within this group was to compromise. Compromising is a conflict management style because it helps me find the middle ground such that both parties have their desires partially met. Sometimes, compromise is known as a lose-lose situation because both parties will have to concede some aspect of their needs and desires for an amicable solution to be reached (Valente & Lourenço, 2020). I feel that this is the most comfortable dealing with conflict because it helps to prevent the conflicts from escalating. Both parties give up something on their part to achieve consensus.
