For PRIMARY SOURCE readings, you should identify the reading, specify what it is (a poem, a proclamation, a newspaper article, a sacred text, etc.), who wrote or otherwise created it, when, where, why they created it, and who was the intended audience. Then state why it’s important – what it reveals about that civilization. You will also want to include something of the historical context of the time and place. Feel free to include your own observations about or responses to the reading.
