Option #1: 

Students will respond to the following prompt to assess their application of developmental

concepts: Thinking about your own development, what experiences have helped shape who you

are today? How does your development illustrate the interaction between nature and nurture?

Identify risk and/or protective factors that may account for the differences/similarities.

You should write about your developmental trajectory individually (whatever you feel

comfortable sharing). The terminologies you should refer to in your paper when discussing these

topics include the concepts include, but are not limited to developmental stages, social-cultural factors,

equifinality and multifinality; passive, active, and evocative gene-environment correlations; epigenetics; risk and protective

factors; and resilience. You should incorporate at least 3 concepts from the course. Please

note that your developmental trajectory consists of more than your choice to attend college and

declare a major. If you’re having trouble generating topics to discuss in your paper, utilize your

textbook by looking through the chapters covered in the course.

Respond to the prompt in a 5-7 page paper. Papers should be double spaced and 12-point Times

New Roman font should be used. Refer to the Rubric

Option #2

Students may elect to compose a psychobiography on a public figure, or fictional person (e.g.,

Nick Fury, Harry Potter, etc.). Students should choose a specific theoretical framework from

which to develop their paper (refer to example posted in Moodle for further guidance). Students

should utilize all relevant terms associated with the developmental theory of choice.
