The purpose of this assignment is to facilitate students’ understanding of the quantitative research process in general and hypothesis making in specific. In this assignment, students are proposing to conduct fundamental research. Students are being asked to identify a potential “cause of the crime’ and use it as the independent variable (IV) and use ‘crime’ as the dependent variable (DV).
