We have discussed the “altered state of consciousness” in this class, specifically with regards to Sufi rituals and spiritual practices. A) List one or two other kinds of altered states of consciousness can you think of that people engage in in everyday life (4-5 sentences). B) Write a paragraph (10-12 sentences) on whether and why these practices are considered spiritual, or, rather, strange, frightening, or immoral. C) Post an image depicting an “altered state of consciousness” and write a few sentences about why you chose to post this image. Credit the source of the image (if possible).
