Write a short essay about a topic of your choice that is related to computing technology and has social or ethical implications.

Describe the background; then identify the social or ethical issues, problems, or questions that you think are important.

Don’t make your essay be just an argument for one point of view. You may express your views if you want to, but first explain what the issues are, why there is a problem or a controversy.

Instructions

1.     Essays must have a title page containing a title, your name, and your student number.

2.     The body of the essay must be between 2 to 4 pages long, double spaced, 12pt font, including references.

3.     References must be in a standard format (eg., APA style).

4.     Prepare a MS Word or PDF document.

Grading Criteria

Each written assignment is worth 100 points. The number of points you earn is determined as follows:

o   Logical reasoning and evidence about the topic: 60 points

o   Spelling and grammar: 10 points

o   Length of essay, approximately 2 to 3 pages: 20 points

o   Including title page and references. 10 points
