1. Plan Your Essay

Plan out your essay by hand first before you type your essay. You should also write out a draft by hand. You do not need to submit this, but I can usually tell when somebody types and submits an essay without planning or a hand-written first draft. Use the Four Paragraph Academic Essay Diagram in Module 1 to create your own plan for your essay. Be sure to click on “Enable Editing” if you open the diagram here.

1. Type Your Essay Using Microsoft Word

You must type your essay as a Word document, using correct MLA typed format. You have a typed example and a video that walks you through the directions, so your MLA format will be a part of your grade. If you have errors, I will take off points, but I will accept your work. When you do Essay 2, I will not accept essays that do not have proper MLA format as shown in my examples.
