asks you to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of a persuasive campaign

The short essay is a 2-page (double spaced and 12-point font size) analysis of the quality of a persuasive campaign. The essay should be uploaded to Canvas on Feb.19 2019 by 10:00pm.

The essay asks you to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of a persuasive campaign:

https://www.unicef.org/fightunfair/

You will examine this webpage and its contents. Please focus on the main contents including texts, images, and videos. You do not need to spend time on peripheral materials such as clicking on external tabs or links on the website.

Your task is to provide your evaluation of the campaign. This will require you to examine the webpage contents carefully and write a short essay on its strengths and weaknesses. Your essay should use what you have learned about persuasion to describe what is strong and why; and to describe what is weak — and especially what is missing — in terms of message strategies in successful persuasion.

First, you will write a short paragraph addressing the following questions: What problem does the persuasion campaign target? Who are the potential target audiences?

Then, you will delve into analyzing the persuasive messaging. A well written and well-received essay will include: (1) Two elements of the webpage that are likely to be particularly effectivein fulfilling the persuasive goal. Justifying your statements of support from your knowledge and that of other experts (that is from class lectures and/or readings) will be crucial to establishing your credibility. (2) One messaging strategy that is missing from the webpage that you think UNICEF should be aware of in their messaging. Here you will likely go beyond the existing contents to include other messaging elements. Once again the credibility of your essay will hinge on citing messaging elements that have an established base in research and theory (that is, from lecture or readings).

In general, the more sources employed from both reading and lecture, the better your essay will be. An essay that draws all elements from a single reading or lecture will be considered inadequate.

Notes:

  • No formal reference or citation is required. However, you may include any reference or citation if you like.
  • You can go beyond 2 pages a little bit (e.g., 3-5 more sentences, a short paragraph).

Programming your mind for success

COLLAPSE

What we think in our head and our minds or ideas have an impact in our lives. Sometimes we have self-limiting thoughts and tell ourselves that’s “ we can’t do certain thing “. I like the Quote she said “ Your Destiny is determined by the choices you make choose now choose well. “ I like this because it makes you think about your actions and why we do what we do because we are responsible for good and back actions. You have to program your mind for success, and train your thoughts that everything you do will succeed.

If I had been in that speech seated at, I had been the first going to get my $20! It is incredible how limitations make us non moved in our life. Fear, obstacles, lack of motivation are the principal thing that stop us every day. As the speaker said: “You just have one live in which to achieve everything, that you are going to achieve, so you have to act accordingly. Real truth. Lets program our minds to success, this is the only chance you will have.

I really liked this video about “programming your mind to success”. What she was saying are things that we need to hear more often to help us to stay on track and focused on what we want.

I loved the experiment that she did. I remember when I was little I used to be the first one to volunteer for almost everything, from school activities to birthday’s parties. But nevertheless now, sometimes I even avoid making eye contact with my professor because of the fear of not knowing what he may ask me to do or say. So many times I have lost great opportunities because I think incorrectly, instead of encouraging myself to do something that I know It might take me to where I want to go, I just let my mind control me and just let my opportunity go away.

This video made me realize how important is to know what we really want and stick to that and achieve it. Visualize our goals in order to stay focused and positive is key too. If we let our minds control us and keep building negative thoughts we are just going to keep changing plans and might not get anywhere. We live in a world where distractions are everywhere and life gets harder and harder, depression and anxiety try every day to take us off the track. But work hard and stay positive will help us to clean our path a little bit, as she stated in the video “success is not an accident, you have to make it on purpose”.

Note: The Organizational Behavior opportunity for improvement must be a topic or topics from the text. The issue must be real (not hypothetical) and verifiable either through case studies, publicly known information, or other means such as an ability to contact those in the company..

2. Looking forward: What changes to the work environment should organizations be preparing for from an Organizational Behavior perspective and why? Note: The paper will rely heavily on independent research conducted by the team.

3. A hot-button topic in the workplace today is generational differences between employees; especially with Millennial employees entering the workforce at a high rate. Specific issues include how do managers motivate employees of different generations, how do managers communicate with different generations of employees, and how do managers resolve/manage conflicts that occur because of generational differences. Analyze the root cause of the conflicts that occur because of generational differences (Tip: Think personality differences, lack of management & employee training on this topic, stereotypes, team dynamics, etc.) and provide recommendations on how organizations and managers can improve in this area. Note: The paper will rely heavily on independent research conducted by the team.

4. Consider the leadership styles of the past two (2) U.S. Presidents (Donald Trump and Barack Obama): What are the key differences? What personality/communication styles would you assign to each? What are the pro’s and con’s of each style? What soft skills could each improve on? Which individual do you feel was better at managing their staff (Cabinet) and why? Note: This is not intended to be an analysis of political positions, but how the individuals managed the country. Must back-up all points made with examples, independent research, and available data.

After gathering this data, the team will assess how these different factors affect the company’s culture. Tip: Depending on the organization, the culture may be different from country to country.

7. The team will analyze the root causes of burnout in the workplace, the affect it can have on employees, and the affect it can have on the bottom line. The team will conclude the paper with recommendations on how managers can prevent burnout with their employees. All points must be supported with Organizational Behavior research and data.

8. Organizational Politics: The team will analyze the affects that politics can have in the workplace. When thinking about politics one must consider the effect on employees, decision-making, and efficiency. Other things to consider are: Do talented employees leave because of organizational politics, can politics affect the culture of an organization, and why are some employees good at navigating organizational politics where others can’t stand it. Finally, the team will conclude with an assessment of whether politics have a place in today’s workplace. All points must be supported with Organizational Behavior research and data.

9. Happy employees are productive employees: The team will research this familiar saying to ascertain can the topics covered in Organizational Behavior actually affect employee performance and the bottom line. The team will conclude the paper with an overall recommendation as it relates to the following question: Should managers focus on making sure their employees are happy? All points must be supported with Organizational Behavior research and data.
