project scope schedule work breakdown structure 1

The Project Scope Template, Project Schedule Template, Work Breakdown Structure Template, and Project overview are attached! Templates must be used. Rubrics (there are 2) are also attached, must meet Mastery Level please!! Thank you so much for helping me out! I appreciate you!

Part 1 – Project Scope Document

You will take on the role of Project Manager. As such, you will determine the project scope and project schedule for SuperPacks. This task has two parts. In the FIRST part, you will use the Project Scope Document Template to develop your project scope document. In the SECOND part, you will use Tab 2 of the Project Schedule Template to develop your project schedule and include it with your written analysis. Tab 2 will provide you with the unexpected events information needed to complete your analysis.

Develop the project scope document to include the following information:

  • Project description
  • Project assumptions
  • Project goals
  • Project constraints (if any)
  • Project limitations
  • Project milestones
  • Project risks (initial assessment)

The Project Scope needs to be developed prior to any analysis of unexpected events.

Part 2 – Analysis of Unexpected Events

In this second part of your task as Project Manager, provide an analysis of unexpected events to your management using the Project Schedule Template (the unexpected events are located in Tab 2 of the document). In your analysis, you should discuss the following:

  • Four areas affected by these unexpected events.
  • Three of the areas of the project affected by the events should include changes to the budget, human capital, and impact to schedule.
  • Identify one additional area affected by these events.

Work Breakdown Schedule

As the project manager, your role is to track and manage the projects you are working on; creating a Statement of Work and a Work Breakdown Structure are tools that can help you manage a project or projects. Below you will create a Statement of work consisting of the basics of the project(s) you are working on. Consider this similar to a business or marketing report, but this will define the project, project scope, and overall strategy of the project.

Part 3
Statement of Work (SOW) Document:

Develop the project Statement of Work document to include the following information:

  • Business need
  • Product scope description
  • Strategic plan

Part 4
As part of your Statement of Work for your project, you will create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). The WBS allows for project managers to compose all tasks of the projects into smaller components to ensure a more manageable project(s).

Develop the project Work Breakdown Structure using the WBS Template.

PROCUREMENT & CONTRACT LAW

Feldman, S. W. (2013). Government contract guidebook (4th, 2013-2014 ed.). Eagan, MN: Thomson Reuters, Westlaw.

Go to Acquisition Central’s Website and explore the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) page, located at http://www.acquisition.gov/far/index.html. Familiarize yourself with the structure and location of specific FAR sections.

Conclude whether or not the FAR effectively creates standards that will allow government contracts to meet the government’s mandate that procurement create cost savings for the public, as well as assist in economic recovery. Provide a rationale to support your response.

From the e-Activity, specify the primary manner in which the cooperative strategies that the FAR advocates help to promote the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for federal agencies. Support your response with one (1) example of an instance where a federal agency has benefited from a cooperative strategy.

Respond to the above information in yellow using the above e-activity, the attached PP and the source listed above.

Reply to Kurt’s response below.

I do believe that the FAR does effectively create standards that allow contract to meet the governments mandate that create cost savings for the public. I believe that the statement above is true because, the government sets the standards across the board for small businesses to large cooperations. The FAR is a very complex system of rules and regulations to learn. I feel that they are laid out to protect both the government and the companies that bid on the contracts. The FAR is a guide book for both the government and the public companies to follow. The FAR has the force and effect of the law, because it is published in the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations. (Feldman 2013 p18)

From the e-Activity the cooperative strategies that the FAR advocated to promote a efficient and cost-effective acquisition was when Paul from the Xcaliber Software Company suggested to make Additional Commercial Contract Types. He suggested that his company bill Time and Material (T&M) and Labor Hours to each commercial contract instead of billing the firm-fixed-price. This was a way that his company could become more flexible and available to each client and bill the appropriate hours to each contract. The T&M provided visibility to the government on what hours were billed for each contract and was easily audited. The government approved the requested and added the T&M for commercial contracts into the FAR. The FAR is not a static document, it is subject to revisions on a frequent bases.

operation research assignment 1

this is a simple assignment not a complex. dont use any mat problem from the internet it has to be crated. no plagiarism.

please read the whole file carefully and don’t accept the assignment if you cant do it

this is a quick description:

  • Find a real problem that a local company is facing or maybe that the school is facing, and formulate the problem and attempt to find the optimal solution. You may add the reference form where you get the problem definition.
  • Make sure the problem isn’t too complex since you’re short on time, but not too simple where it didn’t look like you pushed yourself.
  • Writhe the generic formulation with defining your indices, variables, contraints, Objective function, parameters (collect data), and solve the problem using at leat one method.
  • If you use the simplex method, primal and dual, etc., attache your work.
  • If you use the software, attach the Lindo or Excell reports.
  • Perform at least three changes and use the Sensitivity Analysis to show the decision.
  • Be clear and give clear explanations for your answers. Your grade will depend on the clarity of your answers.

Problem Example

A quick example could be that your school may have different printing locations (each location has different utilizations, I.e. location 1 is used significantly more than location 3) and different printer types around campus. In order to maximize the lifespan of the printer(so they save cost long term so they don’t have to replace it), they want to know how many printers should be placed at each location to maximize efficiency.

question

Are the three main elements of compensation systems—internal consistency, market competitiveness, and recognizing employee contributions—equally important, or do you believe that they differ in importance? If different, which do you believe is most important? Least important? Give your rationale.

students response

Internal Consistency: This compares the value of any job against the value of all other jobs within a firm.

Market Competitiveness shows how the company values its employees vs the rest of the market. In order to maintain and attract the best talent. This requires an intrinsic and extrinsic look at the positions within and outside of the firm.

Recognizing Employee contributions recognizes the value that the employee brings into the firm and pays them accordingly.

I personally believe recognizing employee contributions is the most important aspect. This is the only one which specifically measures the employees performance, output and quality of work. Sales jobs come to mind here. If a salesperson brings in additional clients, he deserves a larger bonus than another who only hits the quota. This incentivizes the salesforce to go out and bring in more business. Without a compensation package to influence this behavior it would be harder to get them to work more. Even if sales roles are not considered, the output and quality of work should determine the salary, not the market value of that jobs position or comparing a job to the others within the firm.

Quantitative Methods and Analysis Submission 2

Assignment Details

In Unit 2, you have learned about three different types of distributions: Normal, binomial, and Poisson. You can take data that you collect and plot it out onto graphs to see a visual representation of the data.  By simply looking at data on a graph, you can tell a lot about how related your observed data are and if they fit into a normal distribution.

For this submission, you will be given a series of scenarios and small collections of data. You should plot the data or calculate probabilities using excel. Then, you will create your own real or hypothetical scenario to graph and explain.

Answer the following: The mean temperature for the month of July in Boston, Massachusetts is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Plot the following data, which represent the observed mean temperature in Boston over the last 20 years:
  1998 72  1999 69  2000 78  2001 70  2002 67  2003 74  2004 73  2005 65  2006 77  2007 71  2008 75  2009 68  2010 72  2011 77  2012 65  2013 79  2014 77  2015 78  2016 72  2017 74

Is this a normal distribution? Explain your reasoning.   What is an outlier? Are there any outliers in this distribution? Explain your reasoning fully.   Using the above data, what is the probability that the mean will be over 76 in any given July?    Using the above data, what is the probability that the mean will be over 80 in any given July?

A heatwave is defined as 3 or more days in a row with a high temperature over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Given the following high temperatures recorded over a period of 20 days, what is the probability that there will be a heatwave in the next 10 days?

  Day 1 93  Day 2 88  Day 3 91  Day 4 86  Day 5 92  Day 6 91  Day 7 90  Day 8 88  Day 9 85  Day 10 91  Day 11 84  Day 12 86  Day 13 85  Day 14 90  Day 15 92  Day 16 89  Day 17 88  Day 18 90  Day 19 88  Day 20 90

Customer surveys reveal that 40% of customers purchase products online versus in the physical store location.  Suppose that this business makes 12 sales in a given day  Does this situation fit the parameters for a binomial distribution? Explain why or why not?
Find the probability of the 12 sales on a given day exactly 4 are made online
Find the probability of the 12 sales fewer than 6 are made online
Find the probability of the 12 sales more than 8 are made online

Your own example:
Choose a company that you have recently seen in the news because it is having some sort of problem or scandal, and complete the following:   Discuss the situation, and describe how the company could use distributions and probability statistics to learn more about how the scandal could affect its business.    If you were a business analyst for the company, what research would you want to do, and what kind of data would you want to collect to create a distribution?   Would this be a standard, binomial, or Poisson distribution?  Why?   List and discuss at least 3 questions that you would want to create probabilities for (e.g.,What is the chance that the company loses 10% of its customers in the next year?).    What would you hope to learn from calculating these probabilities?   Assuming that upper management does not see the value in expending the time and money necessary to collect data to analyze, make an argument (at least 100 words) convincing them that the expenditure is necessary and explaining some dangers the company could face by not knowing what the data predict.

COLLAPSE

Do you anticipate obtaining your DNA profile? Why, or why not?

I honestly am not sure if I want to obtain my DNA profile. Why? Because yes it would be good to know what I have in my genetics, to be aware of possible complications in the future to prevent but then again some of them are not preventable where to all I will have then is a worry of whether or not it will happen to me. There’s good and bad to it but as of now, I believe I have lived a good life without knowing what is next and just living day to day not wondering if it will or when something will strike in my life.

What are the pros and cons of finding out your genetic makeup?

The pros and cons to finding out your genetic makeup is basically my reasoning above. Finding out can lead to worry and stress that is unneeded but can also be good to lead to preventive measures you can take and start doing now. Also, just like everything else, we are not the only people that have access to our information, there is no telling who may see these results and what if it could possibly effect other things in the future such as our insurances. I believe this can lead to coinsurances that don’t need to happen or thoughts that probably would never be in our minds if we did not predispose ourselves to with the findings.

Jennifer Ruiz

In 2008 I was diagnosed with Stage 2B right breast cancer. In 2009 after completing my chemo and radiation treatments, I underwent testing for the BRCA 1 and 2 genes by the recommendation of my doctor. I have two daughters, and positive results would mean an increased risk that they could develop breast cancer as well. Thankfully the results were negative! I don’t remember much about the testing procedure at the time, because it’s been so long. But I do remember it costing about $200 or so, and it wasn’t covered by my insurance.

One of the pros of finding out your genetic makeup is knowing your risk for disease as well as other family members. A con is that the results can trigger negative feelings such as guilt, anxiety, and depression.
