Regulations And Compliance In Healthcare

Continuation………..

It’s time to describe the monitoring tools for your two compliance plans in a way that all employees will understand at a large medical facility where you are the Compliance Officer.

Compliance Plans:

  • A compliance plan about washing hands.
  • A compliance plan about Employees are not knowledgeable in the use of fire extinguishers.
  • Your assignment is to write a 2-3 page section describing the monitoring tools for each compliance plan. (That means a total of 4-6 pages for the two plans; you can write them in one Word document.)
  • Then, create a 1-page procedure based on one of your monitoring tools. Monitoring tools you should cover for each plan should relate to the policies and procedures you developed in previous modules.
  • You chose policies/procedures under the key compliance areas of Compliance Standards, High-Level Responsibility, Education, Communication, Monitoring/Auditing (for Safety), Enforcement/Discipline, and Response/Prevention. (Check them out if you forget! Remember, you may have written about different policies/procedures for the two different compliance plans.)

you are required to include research references throughout your compliance plan – for a total of 12 references for the whole project. That means one or two references per each monitoring tools section for your two compliance plans.

HR Mission Statement

By now, from your textbook readings and lesson, you should have a firm grasp on the different types of human resource values and strategies that are commonplace in the workforce. From this information, complete the following assignment (this is a two-part assignment):

Compare and contrast the three Sample Mission Statements below. Evaluate them for overall effectiveness addressing what is strong, weak, effective, or ineffective and state your reasons.

Sample 1: Human Resources Mission Statement

Part Two:

Create and briefly describe a fictional large company of your choice. This is your company and it should preferably be in your current or desired future industry. This company and the HR mission statement you create will be used as a foundation for future assignments in this course.

Use your analysis to write your own HR mission statement for your fictional company. Consider the following questions when evaluating and formulating your mission statement. Keep in mind that good mission statements are short, clear, concise, & brief hard-hitting comments on your mission.

  • Why does your HR function exist? What do you want for your customers and how can HR provide that?
  • Who are your customers and what can you do for them that will enrich their lives and contribute to their success, both present and future?
  • What image of your function do you want to convey internally and externally? Customers, employees and the public will all have perceptions of your company. How will HR help create the desired picture?
  • What level of service do you provide to employees and the company? Don’t be vague; define what will make your service extraordinary.
  • What kind of relationships will your HR function maintain with customers? Every company function is in partnership with its customers. When you succeed, so do they.
  • What underlying philosophies or values guided your responses to the previous questions? Some mission statements choose to list these separately (as core values or vision). Writing them down clarifies the “why” behind your mission.
  • Does your HR function’s mission statement describe and support what your company will do and why it will do it (the company’s core values)?

There is a minimum requirement of 500 words for this assignment. The paper must be in APA format (See pages 13 – 15 in the CSU Citation Guide). Any sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations in APA format.

discuss community health and public health services in your community

After reading Chapter 1, discuss community health and public health services in your community. In your opinion, are there enough community health services and support in your community? Why, or why not?

Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.”

Also so please reply to another students comment below:

Janina:

It is important for a community to have services available that properly fits the community. If the community is large enough the services should provide from primary care physicians to specialists to cover any problem that could arise. If the community is smaller, these services could be provided by primary care physicians and specialists coming into the small town on certain days a week or during the month so that people within the community are able to get the proper care they need.

Visual Analysis Paper

Apply the feedback comments in your written analysis paper. This paper needs to be at least six pages in lengthusing APA formatting; this length does not include images or the APA title/reference pages.

Health Care Reform Bill Impact Review

1) Scenario: Pursuant to the 2010 Health Care Reform Bill, the United States will be challenged to bring into its health care population some 32 million more patients. Formerly, many of these patients were uninsured. Some of these patients were seen and treated in safety-net hospitals, but mostly in emergency rooms. Reliable, independent studies have shown that this population is low income and is disproportionately made up of ethnic and racial minorities; however, it is important to point out that due to the economic downturn at the turn of the decade surrounding 2010, this 32 million will include a significant number of non-minority unemployed individuals. Consider that health care institutions must move beyond simply taking in and treating the sick and injured who come through the door. In the near future, the health of the community will be measured in terms of low disease burden, high vaccination rates, controlled chronic disease rates, healthier life styles, and a better educated public. Clearly, the impacts to the health care system will have to be addressed.

2) Write a paper (1,250-1,500 words) that describes the roles and responsibilities of health care management in addressing this pressing dilemma. Apply the following questions to generate your conclusions about how you would proceed:

a) How do the considerations under the concept of governance apply?

b) What are the major financial issues being faced?

c) What are the major physical issues being faced?

d) What are the major demographic issues being faced?

3) Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Science Unit Plan: Instructional Strategies

The second step in planning a unit plan is to prepare the instructional strategies that can make connections across multiple areas of science content.

Part 1: Instructional Strategies – Science Unit Plan

For this assignment, you will research instructional strategies and describe how they can connect multiple areas of science. Use these specific instructional strategies to support your grade/developmental level, standards, and learning objectives for the unit plan.

Continue developing the “Science Unit Plan” by completing the following components of the unit plan:

  • Instructional Strategy/Strategies Used: Each chosen strategy should provide opportunities for independent study, active inquiry, collaboration, and/or supportive interaction in the elementary classroom. Use a combination of instructional strategies that are best suited for each lesson and student.
  • Summary of Instruction and Activities: Write a brief summary of instruction, activities, and learning content of each lesson to connect students’ prior knowledge to key science concepts through application of major standards-based concepts and modes of inquiry.

The details of the “Science Unit Plan” will continue to be fully developed and revised throughout the duration of the course, culminating in a complete unit plan due in Topic 5.

Part 2: Reflection

In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on the process of continuing your unit plan and deciding on instructional strategies that best complement your standards, learning objectives, and lesson plan. How do your instructional strategies promote critical thinking and problem solving skills? Explain how you will use this process in your future professional practice.

Support your reflection with at least two scholarly resources.

Submit the “Science Unit Plan” and reflection as one deliverable.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

  2. Communication Plan
  3. Marketing Plan
  4. Community Collaboration Plan

Part 1, “Health Care Organization Profile,” should include the following components:

  1. Name and type of health care organization (stand-alone, multifacility, multicampus, community-based, etc.).
  2. Mission, vision, and goals
  3. Bed number
  4. Type of services provided
  5. Volumes
  6. Quality indicators
  7. Financial performance indicators
  8. Human resource challenges
  9. Diversity issues
  10. Community population statistics

Refer to “Health Care Organization Profile Grading Criteria” for details on how the assignment will be graded.

Rationale, Standards, Learning Objectives, Vocabulary

The unit plan will be aligned to state content standards, in the areas of science and health (fitness, body, physical activity, emotional, and/or motor skills), along with a minimum of two of the following content disciplines:

  • Scientific Method
  • Physical Science
  • Life Science
  • Earth and Space
  • Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science

Part 1: Title, Rationale, Standards, Learning Objectives, Vocabulary

The planning process, which includes defining the structure and selecting a theme that encompasses multiple areas of science in one unit, is the first step in preparing a unit plan.

When planning your unit plan, identify which concepts in science can overlap from one lesson to another. You could have more than one standard from different areas of science in each lesson.

Select a K-8 grade level and use the “Science Unit Plan” template to guide you through the   necessary steps and components.

For this assignment, complete the following components in the “Science Unit Plan” template:

  • Lesson Title, Brief Summary, and Rationale: Summarize and provide a rationale as to how each lesson can overlap multiple areas of science in one lesson and the scope/intent of the lesson.
  • State-Specific Standards: List the specific grade-level standards that teach and assess science content areas.
  • Learning Objectives: Write learning objectives specific to your state standards and the lesson.
  • Vocabulary: Include the appropriate academic language and vocabulary that is appropriate to each lesson.

The details of the “Science Unit Plan” will continue to be fully developed and revised throughout the duration of the course, culminating in a complete unit plan due in Topic 5.

Discussion: The Validity of Meta-Analyses

Epidemiological meta-analyses are quantitative types of systematic reviews, in which summary measures of exposure–outcome associations are calculated based on the results of a selection of existing studies. The goal of meta-analysis is to obtain a robust understanding of the relationship between an exposure and a health outcome. Existing studies may, of course, have strengths and limitations of their own. Similarly, the methodology of meta-analysis has its critics.

With these thoughts in mind:

Review the studies and articles provided

Post a brief summary of your informed opinion regarding the validity of the use of meta-analysis in epidemiological research. Include at least two strengths or limitations of meta-analysis as a systematic review technique. Provide evidence from at least one of the articles in the Learning Resources to support and justify your position.
