Reading/Literacy specialists need to be able to evaluate various literacy resources for use in the secondary classroom to support content area literacy. Reading/Literacy specialists should also be able to determine which current resources and technological tools enable secondary content teachers to more effectively convey relevant disciplinary concepts to their students.

Research at least five current resources that can be used to support secondary literacy instruction across at least two different content areas, with at least one technology-based resource. Design a graphic organizer that can be shared with other professionals in the district that includes:

• The name of the literacy resource.
• A brief description of the literacy resource.
• Purpose of the literacy resource.
• How the literacy resource helps support literacy across content areas.

Write a 250-500 word reflection on your experience in developing the graphic organizer. Explain how you analyzed and evaluated the cross-curricular literacy resources for meeting the needs of students who struggle to learn to read and write. Explain what you have learned about cross-curricular literacy resources and how you might be able to incorporate these into your future professional practice.

Support your reflection with 3-5 scholarly resources.
