An Introduction to Postmodernism

This week you will learn about the foundations of Postmodernism, a
philosophical movement originated in the late 20th century that
influenced artistic expressions, literary criticism, education, and
architecture. Its distinct ideas summarized by a French philosopher
François Lyotard as “incredulity towards metanarratives” conveys the
attitude of relativism embraced by postmodern thinkers. This week you
will explore how these ideas contributed to the development of specific
theories in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.
